- In 2022 two friends from high school, Jamie and Graeme created Haemowear in Dundee, Scotland.
We are a small medical clothing company who look to provide patients with both practical and comfortable clothing solutions during medical treatments. We are currently focused on patients undergoing haemodialysis treatments as it is a medical issue close to our hearts.
In 1999 Graeme was born with renal dysplasia on both his kidneys and in 2008, he was lucky enough to receive his first transplant from a deceased donor in Sevilla, Spain. However, in 2019, sadly his body started to reject his transplanted kidney, and he had to go back on dialysis. At the start of 2022, Jane (Jamie’s mother) put herself forward for the living donation scheme and by the end of the year both Graeme and Jane had received a match. Now after years of dialysis, Graeme is finally able to live his life to the fullest and now he wants to help other patients go through their treatments.
- In 2025 Haemowear worked with Dundee based charity, Tayside Kidney Patients Association (TKPA).
This partnership allowed us to provide local patients with our garments free of charge. Fleeces were given out via raffle to 30 patients between the renal wards of Ninewells, Perth Royal Infirmary (PRI) and Arbroath. The remaining patients who did not win were also offered a garment at a discounted price. Over 50 patients across Tayside Renal units have received our fleeces. Thank you so much to TKPA for allowing us to do this.
- In 2026 Haemowear announced its partnership with VOCAL’s Treasure Tree.
Treasure tree is a social enterprise which helps people access affordable second-hand mobility and accessibility equipment. Treasure Tree specialise in scooters, wheelchairs and hoists. All their items are second-hand and donated. We are grateful to Debbie for showing an interest in our garments and it is now possible to purchase our clothing from Treasure Tree’s shop located in Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh.
